Convention Report - Animania (Australia)

Animania website: http://animania.net.au/

On the 29th of March, Mini-Animania took place at Sydney's Citigate Central. Don't let the convention's title fool you - Mini-Animania was no mini event. To cover all the happenings, we needed to divide the report into five segments. Grab a Lamune bottle and enjoy the ride!

Part 2 - Shopping spree

I've brought some cash, so let's head upstairs and visit the stalls. During this convention, we found items we never expected to see in Sydney!

For starters, Animania's got some merchandise on offer.

Every store has friendly staff that'll make your day. Now, let's see what's on the table.

Check out the merchandises, featuring the Animania mascot! These goodies sold out quickly.

Yosh - next store!

Here're the folks from Transreality. These people import manga and dating sims into Australia. That's right - visual novels have reached Sydney! Our otaku meter's rising. We're going to be super saiyans soon.

Piece of Wonder, Ever17, Hourglass of Summer, etc. Who could have guessed these titles would appear overseas? Transreality, please grace us with more goods in future conventions. Everyone should try these games. Who knows? Dating sims may become your new hobby!

Transreality kicks ass - check them out:http://www.transreality.com.au/

Yosh - next store!

Before we proceed, I must issue a warning. The following photos will make your moe meter max, so prepare yourself.

Saimoe!

Too many figurines to cover in one shot.

Too many figurines to cover in two shots.

Too many figurines to cover in three shots!

So, who owns this booth? Empire Toys - the empire of rare figurines. Many statues went out for a cheap price. 15AUD for a Mai Shiranui model - what can top that? Well, perhaps Empire Toys' flexibility can. Can't find a figurine? Just send them an e-mail - maybe they can help. You can contact Empire Toys here:

These guys are glorifying otaku-ism, so let's support them!

Yosh - next store!

Without artists, anime wouldn't exist. During Animania, X-Seven Artist Studio set up a stand and dazzled us with their illustrations. Just how good are they? See for yourself:

Leaves you speechless, right?

X-Seven Artist Studio originated in China, where a group of artists gathered to share their passion. In no time, fans from across the globe recognised their talent. X-Seven Artist Studio showcases a variety of drawing styles, so you'll surely find one that matches your tastes. Be sure to visit their deviantart account:

Rebecca (right) kindly offered advice for those who wish to form their own studio. She promotes dedication, as practice makes perfect. Also, she recommended hiring a manager into the team. After all, artists cannot draw and manage at the same time. Lastly, Rebecca encourages studios to always ask around. You never know who may be interested in your works!

Thank you, X-Seven Artist Studio.

Hey, let's take a break and check out what other activities are going on.
