What separates Yaoi Press from other western yaoi publishers is their unique approach to the type manga they publish. Yaoi Press do not reprint material originally from Japan or Korea. They also aim their yaoi manga and graphic novels at a wider audience, vying for both male and female readership. Yaoi Press material is not necessarily for readers of over 18 only, they hope to be publishing BL and shonen-ai shortly. Their Hentai Yaoi series has made Yaoi Press known throughout the Western fan world. Q1: As a company what are your aims and ideals? A1: We feel there are a great deal of talented yaoi/boy's love creators outside of Japan and Korea. We would like to be the premier source for their work. We seek to publish the absolute best yaoi manga by these creators to share with the English-speaking world. Q2: And do you have any plans to extend into any mediums other than manga such as anime, novels and audio CDs? A2:Yaoi Press is working hard on our first Boy's Love video game. Unfortunately, I can't say to much about this just yet. We will be issuing a press release in August or September. Q3: I see YaoiPress publish their own original titles rather than translations of Japanese (etc) releases. Are there are any plans to move into translations? A3: We have actually published a translation already, and have two more subtly announced on the web site. However, these are translations from Polish and Spanish. Fans of Japanese and Korean yaoi manga are already getting their needs met by several other companies. We are more interested in translating the excellent yaoi in existence in countries like the Philippines, Germany, Spain, Poland, Thailand, France, and many many other countries.
