As we introduced here, we have an exclusive interview with rato.

Q1:What kind of child were you when you were small?
A1: I was an introverted child.
I was bad at memorizing things, and was twice slower than other kids.

Q2: What made you decide to pursue the current career?
A2: I always liked watching Anime and Manga, and drawing illustrations.
I gradually started to think that it would be nice if I could make it as my career.

Q3: What are the best characteristics of your drawing?
A3: People say my illustration looks "petite" in general.
I wish I could draw something more cheerful.

Q4: Which part of your image do you put the best thought into?
A4: I try to create works that give people "good" feeling by looking at them.
Also, I always try to make my characters appealing somewhat.

Q5: Among all of your works, which one do you like the best?
A5: At the time of completing the piece, if I feel an instant spark toward the piece, I usually like such piece for a long time.
Also, when people tell me they like my work, it gives me a chance to re-evaluate my work.

Q6: What program and software do you use to create your works?
A6: So far, Photoshop only.

Q7: What is the ultimate art for you?
A7: I never thought of that.

Q8: Which part of the image do you start with? (Such as face line, background, etc)
A8: A head, or the body.

Q9: Do you have any creator or artist you admire?
A9: I have many, varying from famous ones to the ones with not well-known.

Q10: Where do you get your inspirations from? (Example: from books, TV, etc)
A10: I often get my inspiration from music, but when I see an illustration which I like, I am always tempted to draw similar elements from such works.

Q11: Do you have a goal in terms of creating works?
A11: I have no goal, but always too busy with what I have now.

Q12: What animals do you like?
A12: Cat, Penguin, Lesser Panda, etc.

Q13: What is your blood type?
A13: O

Q14: How do you spend your weekends?
A14: Go see movies and go to events

Q15: Do you have any sites you check everyday?
A15: News sites and personal blogs.

Q16: What is your hobby other than drawing?
A16: Reading, watching movie, Civilization (Game)

Q17: Do you have any project you are currently working on?
A17: I work for a console game company.

Q18: Message to creators outside of Japan
A18: I am glad that I am being featured like this.
I wish I could widen friendship with people outside of Japan.

Q19: Would you accept work offer from outside of Japan?
A19: Of course.
Though, it is depends on my schedule.
