Anime USA 2005 Report

Just like every year, Anime USA was held at Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner on November 18-20, 2005.

It is a growing convention, and this year the expected visitor numbers are said to be around 3,000.

There were many fun events such as AMVs, Art Show, Artist Alley, Gaming, Karaoke, Panels and of course, Cosplay!

Guest included m.o.v.e, Kristine Sa, Nen Daiko as musical, Greg Ayres (Son Goku in Saiyuki), Caitlin Glass (Winry Rockbell in Fullmetal Alchemist), Hilary Haag (Nene in Bubblegum Crisis 2040), Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist), Chris Patton ("Greed" in Full Metal Alchemist), Monica Rial (Princess Nine) as voice actors/actress. Webcomics artists included Applegeeks, Matt Boyd, Chisuji, and Dave Lister. From industry, David Williams from ADV Films.

Akibaangels.com hosted number of panels at Anime USA, including

Doujinshi
Hentai Doujinshi (18+)
Gaming in Japan
Otaku Culture and Trend in Japan

Participants to the upcoming international collaboration Doujinshi project, Jason Ibarra, Chad Walker and Annie Navarro were attending artist alley.

Jason and Chad joined above panels as panelists as well.

We had a lot of fun as a panelist, guest and most importantly, as a visitor! It was surely an exciting, one of the best conventions around D.C. area!
