Houmitsur's characters are so adorable and have a lot of "Moe" factors. My personal favorites are his "Neko-mimi series", which he features many girls with cat ears.

In his tutorial, he illustrates how to draw Anime style drawing based on real photograph image.
This particular illustration took 18 hours to complete, but the result is amazing.

Q1:Please let us know how the name "Houmitsudo" was created.
A1:It just popped in my head.
Honestly, I created the site as temporary site, but never knew it would continue for this long.

Q2:What kind of child were you when you were small?
A2: I was into philosophy and often thinking deeply about true meaning of Zen.

Q3: What made you decide to pursue the current career?
A3: I was tracing illustration on my notepad.
My friends saw and praised about it, and thought I might want to do something in this field.

Q4: Which part of your image do you put the best thought into?
A4: I always set one "theme" for each illustration, and try to work on that theme.

Q5: Among all of your works, which one do you like the best?
A5: I like the work I did for Media Factory, which is a illustration of a girl who is listening to music on head phone at music store.
It's background, character balance and coloring turned out better that I expected.

Q6: What program and software do you use to create your works?
A6: I draw lines with a software called "Sai", then color with PhotoshopCS2.

Q7: What is the ultimate art for you?
A7: I always draw to satisfy my own interest.
Once I create something I am totally satisfied, that might be the ultimate.

Q8: Which part of the image do you start with? (Such as face line, background, etc)
A8: Character lines.

Q9: Do you have any creator or artist you admire?
A9: I get inspiration from anything I see.
Recently I got an influence from Sasorigatame's works.

Q10: Where do you get your inspirations from? (Example: from books, TV, etc)
A10: By looking at other people's works and pictures.
It makes me want to draw like theirs.

Q11: Do you have a goal in terms of creating works?
A11: I will keep pursuing Moe as I age.
I always want to reflect up-to-date sensation on my works.

Q12: What animals do you like?
A12: I like all the living creatures.
I like all the non-living creatures as well.

Q13: What is your blood type?
A13: I believe it is O.

Q14: How do you spend your weekends?
A14: I don't have sense of week day and weekend.
I draw at work, and do usual things at work.

Q15: Please name 3 countries you like to visit the most, at this moment.
A15:
Spain, Italy and Turkey.
Only that I want to try their foods.
Although, I always get sick when I fly. Therefore I don't really go traveling.

Q16: Do you have any sites you check everyday?
A16: I have so many that I can't list them here.
But if I was to name one, it is moemichelin.
I check the site everyday to see understand the trend in Moe.

Q17: What is your hobby other than drawing?
A17: I like cooking and eating.
I like drinking as well, but for personal reasons, I haven't been drinking for 2 years.

Q18: Do you have any project you are currently working on?
A18: Yes.
I have been working on this one Doujin game for many years.
The title is Nijyu-yon-ki (24 seasons), and I plan to make it public sometimes in the future.

Q19: Message to creators outside of Japan
A19: I am not worthy to be interviewed.

Q20: Would you accept work offer from outside of Japan?
A20: If it sounds interesting, I am always ready to take offer from anyone.
